Rancher Open Ended Tube Frame
#1
Upon examining my new rancher, I noticed that the tube frame is open, not capped or sealed. Noticed this on the ends of the tubes under the footboards and in the rear (Under the rear rack)
I understand that moisture should have a way of exiting, but my thoughts are in deep water, it can come into the frame and not have a way to exit.
Am I missing end caps, or is this a design of Hondas. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Ron. Guess it's just the design. I was concerned that the dealer might have forgotten a part.
I just hope water can drain out of the frame tube if it gets in. I don't want to block the opening because condensation can occur and then it can't evaporate, and this can cause rust.

Well I got mine in November and noticed it first thing, before I even brought it home I'm not sure what the reasoning behind it is. I have never seen any other quad like this and thought maybe they forgot to install the plugs at the factory. I sprayed mine with rust check before I even rode it but nothing ran out of the frame, I figured there might be drain holes. Doesn't make alot of sense to me maybe someone should call honda to find out.

The open frame tubes at the rear of the machine
are open to the front of the machine they end pointing down both ends are open.I sprayed the
inside of my frame with WD40 and compressed air
at the same time and it ran out the front of the frame.

Thanks Baldeagle. I'll have to examine mine closer. It would make sense that the other end of the tube should be lower and allow for drainage.
I know some felt I was being too concerned over a minor issue. But I knew if anyone could answer my question, this forum could. And judging by the responses, others had the same concerns. I can rest easy
Thanks again for the replies.
