What are dual rate and tripple rate shox?

What are they, how do they work and why are they better than single rate? Why dont the manufactures (take the 400ex) put tripple rates on the 400ex stock, it may be $500 more, but who cares! YOUR GETTING WAY BETTER SHOX!

yes it would be way better but the average rider doesn't need triple rate shocks and most riders don't buy them either. the stock 400ex shocks are pretty good. i just got some works triple rates and their awesome tho. i'll never go back to a single rate spring. check this link it'll answer a lot of shock questions for ya. http://www.motojoe.com/atv/shocfaq.htm
