I want to take a vote in this forum of who thinks that Honda should get off there A$$ and make a 450F quad or something new with ALOT more power than the 400EX? If all of you guys don't want a 450F quad... let this forum know what you want.

i dont know about the 450f as a quad even though it would be very nice. i am thinking more in the lines of the Rincon engine being used as the sport quad. it would be pretty nice since the rincon doesnt weigh that much for a big utility so we could prob get in that 375 range and it would be like the raptor and grizzly thing with the two 660 engines and the hondas could be the rincon 650 with the 650ex. just my thoughts

The CRF450 motor is much lighter than the 650 and produces somewhere in the 53-56 hp range stock. Hey 450fquadman, do you own one also or do you just have a cool forum name? A 650EX would still be very cool and probably out sell the 450 because most people think bigger is better.

I would like to see either an updated 250R (snowball's chance in H#**) or a 450F based race quad. I also want kick start, no reverse, easy to tune carb, etc... you know, the KISS priciple (Keep it simple, stupid). A true race quad. I believe there is enough of a market for this type of quad that it is feasible. Yes, Cannondale almost offers what I want and I do love them, but they didn't follow the KISS priciple, so for now, they are out for me.

I don't know if I would want to kick a high compression 450 4 stroke too many times. Electric would be the way to go there.

BTW, If I were Mr Honda and made the decisions I would scrap the 300ex, update the 400ex to include reverse and introduce a 650ex with good suspension, long travel electric start and reverse. I'll start holding my breath now.

If I was Honda, I would...

I.) Offer the 450EX and 450EXR
...A.) 450EX
......1.) Liquid cooling, 20" tires, Reverse, 36 HP out of the box, ..........12" soft suspension travel front, 12.5 soft suspension ..........travel rear, aluminum frame, nerfs, kill switch, 46" wide.
...B.) 450EXR
......2.) Liquid cooling, 18"/20" tire option, no reverse, 42 HP out ..........of the box, 12" stiffer race setup suspension front, 12.5" ..........stiffer race setup suspension rear, aluminum frame, nerfs, ..........kill switch, high compression, 49/50" wide.

This won't happen in Honda for a million years, which is why I bought from a company that isn't chicken ****.

Well 450 would be nice, about 45 RWHP, chromoly frame, same demensions as 250R (88'-89'). 400EX suspension....No need for OK shocks out of the box, it would just drive the cost way up and be replaced with aftermarket stuff anyway. Electric start or kick would be fine. No reverse. Weigh around 360, sell for under $6,000.

i hate the bigger is better philosophy i want to c a crf440 because i beleive that a 450 is in the open class also if honda did do this they would have to do a major detune i know it doesnt make sense we have four wheels not two and they would also make the power come on at lower rpm's the 450 likes to rev

Doesn't the CRF450 have automatic compression release? That would make it easier to kick over.
