They make you pay it because "we are stupid consumers". A reputable dealer will not charge you for it on a quad. If anyone doesn't believe me, ask to see a quad uncrated. It will really tick you off if you paid for it.

At my dealer I've seen crated quads. All you have to do is put the tires and wheels on them and add gas.

In South Louisiana the cheapest I've seen them is $5199.00. Last year they were $5499.00. I'm not sure the reason for that, but I'm assuming that since Bombardier released their DS 650 one local dealer added spice to the price. Long Live ATVS...

I bought my new Banshee for $4963 plus the freight and set up for a total of $5200. I am thinking I can buy the 400ex for an even $5000 since the 400ex MSRP is $200 less than the Banshee. I would guess that $5000-5100 is a great deal, but many dealers won't go that low.

The local papers are full of used '99 and '00 ATV's with prices higher than what I could pay for a new one. Some people just don't shop for the best deal.

Hello everyone... I'm new to the Honda forum. I just paid $5348 out the door for my 00 400ex in the Phoenix area. Had to deal quite a bit, and the dealer acted like I was robbing him. They are still selling every 400ex they can get their hands on for approx. $6300 OTD everyday. Amazing.

I contacted leisurebytel.com as well because I'm also looking for a 400EX at a decent price, and found the models they are selling are all Canadian versions. Not that there is any difference between them and the U.S. models, but the representative I spoke to cautioned that U.S. buyers should be aware that leisurebytel.com can't/won't gaurantee the factory warranty will be accepted at a U.S. dealer. Supposedly this is due to some Honda-related problem of a U.S. dealer trying to process warranty work on a model bought out of the country.

I don't know in Cali, but in most areas you should be able to find a better deal on one than from leisurebytel.com if you look around. Then no warranty worries.

Honda's website will locate dealers for you, if you want some options.

I didn't explain my first response correctly... What I should have said was if buying an ATV from them, first check with a local dealer to ensure if they'll honor the Canadian warranty...not that there isn't a warranty.

anyone bought anything off of leisurebytel.com ?

The prices aren't bad. I had a chance to get a new 1999 400ex for 4,500. Too bad i didn't have the cash. I tried my best to!

i can get a banshee to my door for 5,200!

And an 400EX for 5,400.
