I have a gas tank with some rust on the inside. and it has some holes in it. I would like to fix this one. How should i fix the holes. Solder them, bras it? Or is jb weld an alternative that will hold up.. What should i do about the rust on the inside.

you should just have the holes welded shut, and try some strong acid to clean it up, well that should work, see ya!!

I never have found a good way of cleaning one.. a friend said to use rocks and shake it up, but one spark and i got a bomb on my hands.. cant weld either. I have found the cause though.. our new ethonal fuel holds water in it and rusts metal tanks fast..if you see a sticker on the pump where you fuel up saying it has Ethonal id switch brands

Buy a gas tank renewal kit by a company like Eastwood. It is a few step process with different chemicals that etches, and then seals(as long as the holes aren't real big) with another chemical. Harley riders have been using the similiar process for years. I think their address is Eastwoodcompany.com. I am sure other companies make the same product, but this is the one that I have been around. Good luck!

I have done this a hundred times, buy some Muratic acid from a local pool store. Put it in and shake it up real good, if it keeps coming out yellow that means it is still getting rust out, do this until it is relatively clean. Next clean the paint off from around the hole, and put some JB weld on it. We do it all the time where I work and have never had one fail when done right.

I think I am going to try the muratic acid then weld or solder the holes shut. I think they would be to big two fill with the gas tank renewal kit

I think best thing would be to put a new plastic tank on it. All your problems would be solved. later

What type of quad do you have this problem with?Clarke Manufacturing makes the take for the really old Honda's (ATC70-200SX) I've looked the price up for my SX and I think it was $120. ITP also makes a tank for the play quads.I'm not sure about the price.
