did anyone see a gain in power with just a KandN filter with jets. if so, where did you see the power gains at(low, mid, and/or high end). finally, did you prove these gains by racing someone or dynoing the bike? thanks for the help

When I put the K&N on (and an exhaust system), I lost low end but gained mid and high end. Later I put on an Edelbrock carb, and got even more mid and high end (high end is furious!), but the low end never came back. I think I lost low end because there is just to much air for the stock motor. I think an increase in compression is needed to get the low end back.

With a K&N and jetting you will notice better throttle response and power every where. The stock air filter of every quad is more restrictive. When installing a K&N you give the engine better breathing capabillities. Wich require some jetting. It will give the over all performance a better shot.

yzguy,

More than likely your pipe selection took your bottom end away. Pipes are made different, some are overall some are top, some are mid, and I believe the DMC is the only bottom one out there for the EX.
