Just got back from a local dealership, and the 400's are going for $1,300 off, and the 300EX is discounted a similar amount!! Interestingly, the 250EX has not been discounted, making the 300EX the same price as the 250. They said the 250 sells so well, there is no reason to discount it! This leads one to speculate that the 300 will soon drop from the line (something I have been hearing for a while now), and the 400 will fill that niche.

Anyway, I think this is good news!! This is the niche where the 400EX belongs, either "king of the sport bikes", or the "bargain performance bike". I have a bunch of beginner friends who are thinking about a bike purchase, and I am going to call all of them in the next 15 minutes. These are people who just want a fun recreational ride, and a stock 400 is perfect for them.

Wow....if that is true then I think most people would opt for the Honda over the Z400 even if the Suzuki is as good as they say it is.

The thing that sucks is I just bought my 400ex and if I could have said I could get a new one for $4300 there is no way I would have justified spending what I did. i just went to the local dealership and they were selling 400ex's for $5,300 out the door. i bought mine from this same dealership for 5,800 out the door, so the prices are dropping. i went there with one of my friends because he wanted a 400ex also. we went to ask prices about the 400ex and the owner pulled my friend and myself to the side and said the 400ex prices are going down because a new sport quad is coming next year. he said it is a 750ex that will do 105 mph out of the box(i will believe that when i see it). the price on the 750ex is $6,700 from what the owner told me. i would love to see a new sport quad out by honda. he said it will be here in one year from this date.

If 400ex's get that cheap, I say forget the dealer and do a deal with Wal-mart and watch the price on one go below the price of the popular 250EX.

I say forget the dealer. Do a deal with Wal-mart and sell more 400ex's than you would have ever dreamed possiable >>>>> Honda.

No one beats Walmart prices. Walmart might even sell them as 6 crate special.

I would say give me one of those crate specials.

Haha, yea k-mart will be selling stuff soon, i saw a go cart there a couple weeks ago. why not a honda 400ex. Anyway that 750 ex is such bs. If you believe that ur just dumb. I don't believe that u can get a 400ex 1300 off the msrp either. If your lucky 500, but 1300 is unreal. In jersey you can't get it lower then 200 off if you went to every dealer in your surrounding counties.

400EX's are going for every where from 4699.00 to 4999.00 from Mississippi over through Arkansas. And the rumor of a new ex isn't hurting sales, the Z400 and the Raptor are what's hurting their sales. And with Z's going for 5099.00 and Raptor's going for 5699.00 it's kind of hard to see anyone buying a 400ex since the other 2 have reverse and liquid cooling and more power for the 1 or 20,000 people that actually want more power. LOL
