i have a 250x and every time i let off the gas the rpm's stay higher then they should and the same happens when i leave it in nutral or pull in the clutch. i have never adjusted the idel or anything, my friend thinks the float needle is sticking, is he right?? and if not what is it???

First off, you should adjust the idle screw just to see what happens. I would buy some type of cable lube and lube your throttle cable, it may be sticking.
