I get a "racheting" sound every time I am braking hard or downshifting coming down a hill on my Honda Foreman. Any ideas?

 

I own a foreman 400 and a Rubicon. Both of them made a clicking or ratcheting sound. However mine did it while turning sharp corner, more often in reverse. Both machines needed new axle bearings on rear axle left side. It's easy to change them or just take apart and see if they are bad. Mine were both filled with dirt. It must have been a bad seal. Let me know what you find, maybe one of us will run into the same problem.
