400EX countershaft sprocket question?
#1
I just changed my 16 tooth countershaft sprocket back to 15 tooth because I am going on a dune trip, when I put it on and tightened it down, I noticed a very small amount of sideplay in the sprocket. Its been a while since I changed to the 16 tooth, so I don't remember if there was sideplay in it also. Is this normal or did I put it on wrong?

You have to loosen your chain adjustment up and then slide the sprocket off and work it out of the chain links. when I put the 16 tooth on my 400EX I had to remove the case saver and put some spacers on the bolts so the sprocket cover fit right, I haven't found a case saver for that size sprocket, it's probably a similar issue on the 300EX.
