Has anyone ever seen a honda xr50 that has been modded to fit a full sized rider. I jst looked at a web site that delt only with the modification of these and other 4-stroke bikes. it looks like a neat thing to do to goof around on. what do you guys think

Racing mini bikes is a lot of fun. It's a cheap way to have a good time. Check out www.precision-racing-components.com They have a good selection of stuff for mini bikes. They can build a very fast xr50.

Those bikes when complete run over 3 grand when including the price of a new XR50 or XR70 to build off of.

You would be better off by starting with the XR80 or XR100. Larger frame and the vertical cylinder engine.

Ofcourse, if it's the hobby part of it that appeals to you....then I say go for it.

Two Brothers Racing has a kit that turns the XR50 into a 50 Magna street cruiser!!!

I have a 92' ZR-50. I enjoy playing around on it but with a few minor upgrades it would be alot more comfortable. It looks like you could bolt some triple clamps in place of the existing handlebar setup, which would then allow taller bars(so you don't hit your knees). A rear brake lever on the left handlebar would sure be nice also(easier to keep the front end from coming over). If you want to start improving the suspension and that kind of stuff, it will take some $. The handlebars and break lever might be workable with used parts off of some other kind of bike.

I have a 97 XR70 and its the perfect way to go to the mailbox.

The little Honda makes every trip to the mailbox an on road adventure.
