I had a recon and I know for a fact that the racks hold ALOT more than what there rated at

 

I'm 6'1 and 214lbs and ride my Recons with absolutely no problem. I ride in New England on hills and rocky terrain ....I was so happy with my '99 Recon, that I went out and bought a new '00 one just to have a second to ride with friends. Bottom line, power is not an issue.

Ride is also very good, but I will say that if you have lots of rolling moguls...you may like the suspension on the Polaris better.
