Sounds like a hell of a truck! By the way I knew a lot of the guys up there at the Jenkins County 911 center. I used to work with 2-way radios so I was up there a good bit. Also I used to install those wig-wags and other emergency equipment. Let me know where and when you guys are going to race those quads again and I'll be there.

Good call!! I have seen on the Denver newspaper a few weeks ago with an ad for a 1970 Hemicuda, with motor for $6000. Now i am sure this car probably needs more than a full resto, but if you want I can see if the ad is still in the paper and I will get back to you.

I was in the market for a stepside like yours to put my motor into, but decided to use the Cuda instead. Sounds like yours is nice though! Do you know what it weighs? I thought the 1/2 shortbeds were fairly light for a truck.
Anyhow, Ill talk to you guys later, and yes, its a good thing 400exman has his 454 hopped up. I thought it was a desacration to slap the hallowed SS moniker on that pathetic truck.

I don't remember the truck you're describing. I've been out of that business for a year now and haven't been up there to city hall in a while. I don't even know if the same guys are there. I remember Forest Boyer, Chief Dwayne Herrington, Robert Reeves, and I'm sure there are others I don't recall right off hand. I remember that building well though. My old boss and myself ran all of the phone system and 911 equipment in city hall there in Millen. Like I said, I don't remember the truck you're speaking of and I would have to see you outrun that Banshee to believe it.

Hey, those guys still work there all right. everyone of them too. I tell you when we race again. he is saying the bearings went out in his rear end but i think he just doesn't want to race again. but i'll be sure to tell you when we do.

 

Yeah man that a real fact here its winter and i can ride whit a banshee whit no problem whit my 300ex and i hope look the diference this summer whit my new mods
i will ride whit a stock 400ex and a stock banshee

That a fact that know his phisical capability of is machine realy help and you can push it more than somebody whit a 400ex and banshee who dont know his machine as much as the 300ex riders and i can say that by riding this winter whit my friend banshee
and winter is a tactical sliding race and its realy funny see my lil 300ex in front of that spining banshee

what is the top speed of a stock 400ex ?

 

I know a banshee owner who was running DG exaust,twin filters(no airbox)and cool heads with 230 mains.He had 400EXs keeping up with him,bone-stock banshees beating him.It was crazy.So i gave him 300 mains and now he does the kicking.I imagine the Banshee, that 400EXer raced has simialer problems and better get it looked at before it melts down.
