I was wondering if you can put a 400ex motor on the 300ex. And if so, how much would it cost?

 

A brand new 400ex motor is about $2500 and i dont know if it will fit. Also look into TC racing i have a 300ex motor punched out to a 405cc that runs on VP14 fuel and has external oil cooler this upgrade was $2400 or you can get a 365 kit

 

why would you want to put a 400ex motor into a 300ex frame? just go buy a 400ex.

 

I would like to put a 400 ex motor on a 300 because it good to bore a motor out.. it isnt as reliable. And i want reverse. and im not that big of a kid so i would rather have a 400 motor on a 300 frame

 

When you buy a motor, the transmission is sealed inside the case of the engine. A 400EX motor does not have reverse. Putting that motor in a 300EX frame will not give you reverse. So your only option is to highly modify your 300 motor.

if you want a 400ex engine try finding an older xr400 motorcycle for a donor, they are the same basic engine.

P.S. with little mods all suspension front and rear from a 250r will fit 250x/300ex.
