Rincon Information

I saw the Rincon for the first time the other day. I'm an old fashioned manual foot shift guy, so they can keep their warmed over automobile transmission. But, I have to say it isn't the huge hulking beast that I was expecting. Actually, it is trimer than the Rubicon. They really had to put this thing on a diet to keep it at 600 lb. Wish they would put the Rancher (and why not the whole line??) on the same diet and get it down to like 450 lbs. Now that would be my dream machine!

Picked up my Rincon last Thurs. Put 15 miles on it the first night and 40 miles Sat. tried it out on a lot of different type trails The machine handles great and the suspension really does a good job, jab the trottle at a dead stop and it will pack the front wheels. The transmission takes some getting use to but it works great theres plenty range in the gearing. On rough choppy trails just point the front wheels and go it smooth's out some really rough stuff. I was a little worried after some of the first reveiws I read about the power and the trans. But not any more I,m very well satisfied.

Just picked mine up on Fri. So far It's almost everything they said it was. I like the transmission except for the engine braking. There is almost nothing below 8mph. If you are going down some steep and tricky downhills you will be on your brakes the whole time. I was dissapointed in this as the Polaris Sportsman would crawl down that stuff without having to yank on the brakes. If you are going to ride this machine in mountainess areas I would see if you can get a test ride, or someone who has one, and check if the engine braking is for you. The ride is very good. I would have to say as good as the sportsman. The engine seems to be a little loud. Not the exhaust but the engine itself. The accelaration is awesome and haven't quite gone full throttle yet. Will wait untill it's broke in. Looks are awesome. Will go a hell of a long distance on a tank of gas. I got 24mpg on my first ride. Don't know how much of that is due to the radial tires or the machine itself. They didn't budge off the retail price... $7599. The dealer's set-up is little off, I think. My Rincon looks to have toe-out. That makes it a little darty. I'm going to check with them tomorrow and see what the set-up should be. I think it should be 0 degrees or a little toe-in. This makes it a little more forgiving. That's about all I can give you for now. Have only ridden it for two days and have only put 100 miles on it so far. Hope this helps.

A friend of mine just bought one 2 weeks ago. This past weekend I let him use my 700 and he let me use his rincon. This quad is much more sport than utility. Very very soft suspension, great for trail riding but I dont think it would haul out a deer or tow too well. My rubicon and sportsman seem to have a lot more low end power along with a lot more engine braking. If you are riding in a lot of steep terrain this quad is not for you. Transmission is very smooth shifting and easy to get used to. Brakes seemed to work well. Stock tires are great on hard pack trails but suck in mud. Radiator looks very small on this quad could be a problem for guys that do a lot of mud. Overall seems to be a well built quad but I am not a fan of the front bumper. I know it has steel tubing under it but it is not much protection. Elec display easy to read and functional. If you are more of a sport rider then you should look at this or the kawi 650. If you are more utility minded such as hunting, plowing towing then look at a sportsman700 or grizz 660.

$7200.00 out the door all the dealers around here have them (green) red is hard to find. Brother inlaw came in for a week with his Rincon. Very nice bike. Strong motor rides better than my R at 55 through the hay field. Top speed is 58. Radial tires hook good. As for engine braking go to ESP then down shift to first. After riding it on an off for a week. I'm going to sell the R and get one.

We had our Rincons out this past weekend and the machines are everything we had hoped for. We had them straight up trails in 2 wheel drive over rocks and they never slipped. As far as the engine brakeing you have to tap the rear brake and the transmission shifts down to the next lower gear. You really need to ride one of these machines all day in the mountains to appreciate what Honda has developed. I think that this machine will be the one to beat. We rode 45 miles in one ride and could have rode further with no problem. A great riding ATV.
