honda simply needs to innovate in a more timely fashion in order to directly compete.

it does not matter if honda releses there new sport quad tommarow or next year if it is as great as the 400ex was when it came out alot of people will buy it. a bunch of you rip on the 400ex but when it came out you all know you thought it was the greatest thing after the day of the 250r. than others came out and a bunch of you got them and doged out the 400ex but its still selling. the 400ex is how old... and still hanging with the new toys in town (give or take a very little). so what im saying is let honda take there time because when it does come out it will be the next atv of the decade. rember the last two i do they were red.

After the disappointment of this evening's Honda preview, and seeing what Honda has in store for us; I personally am sick of the whole topic. For the last many months we have all discussed over and over what the new Honda sport quad might be. And now we know...two damn new Ranchers. Lets all forget this mythical new sport quad b.s., and go ride!

In case many of you don't know. Sport ATV's are a small segment in the ATV market. No matter what brand it is. That is why you are seeing a new utility right now. It's all based on sales.

This is exactly like it was 2 years ago. We wait for a couple of months and what do we get? A 250EX. But now we get ranchers. But aren't we all forgetting something? It says on Honda's site to check for new 03's and a PREVIEW OF 04'S! so all hope isn't lost! we just might have to wait like the Rincon.

Wize@ss,

<<

<< Damn Honda I'm glad Polaris has built a better quad. Honda lost one sale this year. I'm sure not going to buy a rancher and expect to have fun at the dunes! >>

Good for you! More people should stand up and support those who support them! Polaris, Cannondale, Suzuki and Kawasaki! Honda's lawyers (who make all their decisions) will be very disappointed when Big Red can't pay them due to low sales from that antequated wreck called the 400ex!
>>

I was going to let you go....but, you've really hit a nerve. Polaris is doing a "half @ss" sponsorship of Daryl Rath. From what I've heard, it's just him going to local tracks and beating mediocre racers. No one that runs the Nationals....oooohhh wow! That Predator is great! Rath would win on a stock 300ex......end of story! Suzuki and Kawasaki?????? The only way Suzuki will support your racing habit, is if you run an RM. Same with Kawi and their KX. They DO NOT IN ANY WAY support Doug Gust.

And the 400ex is anything but a wreck.....it'll still be dominating the GNCC's next year....mark my word. The Predator will not be running with the big boys....it'll still be on the porch.....

The remaining 2003's were motorcycles. ATV's are already done. If we see a new Honda sport it will be 2005.

i really dont think honda gives a squirt about ATV sport bikes. all there money is made in street bikes and dirtbikes. goto any ATV event and then goto any dirtbike event, the crowds @ a dirtbike event are huge compared to atv events. its not because there getting sued, or afraid of it. its a money game, they simply sell more dirtbikes and streetbikes and they put there money there. the only way to really punish them is not to buy there ATVS. but i know that will never happen because my local shop sells them like mad. so why would honda make a new one? im just as mad they didnt make a crf450 atv because im in the market for a new machine. but im guilty of probably buying a 400ex soon instead ......bummer
