Better Mudder, Rancher or Foreman 450???
#1
Hello all,
I was looking for some input on this subject. If you were to take a RancherES and a Foreman 450ES, both with the same type of 26 inch tall tire, which would go more places when it comes to mud?
Obviously, the Foreman has more power, but the Rancher has more overall ground clearance, a new front differential that sends power to the wheel with traction, and is also lighter. Let me know what you think!

If you are in a situation where you need to keep your speed up to stop from bogging down then the 450 is the way to go . It is geared differently .
While the Rancher is in second the 450 is in third . My 450 out climbed my friends Rancher in deep snow on hills where you needed to keep your speed up .

Hey guys,
I really haven't had a chance to give my new Rancher a good test outing. I just got it tues. of this week. By the way, I live in Louisiana so this is mud heaven. Last week, a riding buddy of mine invited this guy he knew to go riding with us. This fellow just happened to have a month old Rancher w/26' Super Swampers. After seeing him just plow through mudholes I wouldn't even attempt on my Suzuki, I had to have one!!! Sooooo........off to the Honda dealer!
The thing was, I sort of had a hard time deciding between the Rancher and the Foreman. Obviously, I went with the Rancher and I'm pleased so far. I just wanted to get some input from others to see what they thought. THANKS!!!

To bad you didn't ask between Polaris...just kidding fellows...what I was wondering aren't the front ends on the rancher and the foreman the same and don't you think the heavier bike being the foreman will be the better mudder if the front ends are the same.

Hope this does not end up a duplicate post. Just wondering why you want to limit the 450 to 26 inch tires. Most people I know run 27 inchers and a lift kit to get the front end up out of the ruts even more. Someone has posted a pic of 28" Vamps on a Foreman. I don't know if a Rancher can turn that large of a tire, but the Foreman apparently has the torque to do so. I have not ridden a Rancher, but everyone who has seems extremely satisfied.
