Jetting sizes?
#1
I have a 148 main now. I was told by White Brothers to go up 2 sizes. They said that would be a 152. The Dealer tells me the mains go up in increments of 5, and said to go up to a 155 or 160.
My question is do the mains go up in 5 ie: 150,155,160 or do the go up in 2 ie: 148,150,152?
Thanks for the help.
BTW, this is for a 00' 400ex with the stock carb.

Mikuni main jets are available in steps of two and in some cases at least, even in 1/2 steps, such as 147.5 for instance.Your dealer probably doesn't stock all the sizes so he attempted to sell you what he had. I guess it is possible that Keihin jets are in steps of 5 but it doesn't seem plausible to me.

This is a good example of a dealer having a parts person that does not know about carbs. The jets go up in sizes of 2 1/2, but there are round off to save space.(148,150,152,155,158,160,162,165,168,etc). This is for a Keihin, for a Mikuni I think that they go up in sizes of 5.
