The Blaster is a little faster, but the 300 has REAL suspension. The 300 is definitely more durable. Our Blaster developed cracks on the swingarm, everywhere there was a weld!! Both bikes hop-up well. I think of the Blaster as the cheap, DISPOSABLE bike for the beginner who can use a clutch.

 

2day my neigbor had some friends over... 8 or 9 quads and a bike in all... there was 2 300ex, 2 400ex, a z400 and ummm some utility i dunno, my neigbors blaster, and a yamaha bike... o yea and a banshee... i rode the 400exs and they are sooooooooo kool... i also rode the banshee but the clutch was slipping it was reeally fun [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

You know they'll go 70 or 80?? Unfortunately, someone has been feeding you some BS. They will, however, hit around 67 tops. With stock gearing.

The 300 will hit around 53-56. Jetting will not give much more top speed, if any, however, will help it get there quicker, as long as it's done correctly. You would also want to add a pipe and higher flow filter, too.

 

o ok well i asked the kid who had the 400ex and he said it went like 70 or 80... but i know that it goes faster than the blaster and the blaster goes pretty fast

 

In a drag the blaster would win. At all low end it would lose.

 

toomey, all i have on the rap is the xtremes and 10 inch douglas .190 alum. wheels. i have a k&n at the dealer i have to go pick up, and im still trying to decide on a pipe.

what do the toomey exhausts run for the blaster? my cousin has a cobra that came on his blaster when he bought it and he wants to get a new one. the cobra doesnt have an arrestor either, so he cant legally ride with us. he just had to replace his reeds cuz one broke right off!!!
