I have been checking around to put a pipe on my 200 300 ex. I have seen the supertrapp for about 250 bucks and the DG for 125 bucks. Does anyone think there is a big difference in the two? Also, is the K&N filter with the jet kit worth getting? I am sure it is because it works great in my truck. Also I have seen a lot of you changing to a 14 tooth front sprocket. I noticiced my quad on a hillclimb revs high in second then bogs in third. I suppose with a 14 tooth I can keep it in second longer. I am new to atv mods so any help will be appreciated. Also don't tell me I should have bought a 400 because I know that already

There is a HUGE difference in the DG and Supertrapp pipes. I have a DG and it did practically nothing to my bike. I had it for about a month and a half and the headpipe rusted out. I upgraded to an FMF and couldnt be happier. A friend's dad had the 300 setup for MX with the Supertrapp and it was FAST on the track. Of course it had a cam, big bore kit, K&N filter and jet, etc etc etc etc.
But he said that the exhaust was the best out there.
The White Bros. E-Series seems to be popular as well.

I've had a Super trapp IDS2, FMF Mega Max, White Bros E-Series, and now I have the DG (After selling the others). The DG gave me the best power and made the power band incredible. I have a 250X with the DG, AirBox vents, and K&N Filter (and the carb was rejetted). I took my quad to a local gas station that had a Dyno, and Dyno'ed the bike with each pipe. The power increases were:

STOCK - 19HP
White Bros E-Series - 21.5HP
Super Trapp IDS2 - 22.7HP
FMF Mega Max - 21.2HP
DG RCM - 24.9

All these exhausts were full systems (with header pipe) I've had my DG for about 3 months now and haven't had any problems! Everyone thinks that the DG is a bad pipe because its cheaper than the rest but in my experience its the best! Not all bikes are the same and all motors respond differently to mods but it seems the DG pipe is better than the other pipes I've tested, the only problem I have with the DG pipe is that it is loud!!!!

1987 Honda 250X, Renthal Quad bend, K&N w/outer wear, Airbox vents, PureSport Bandits F/R

I have a DG pipe, K&N air filter(lid removed), dyno jet kit, and 14t front sprocket. it made the lil' 300EX kick. helped out tremendously with acceleration and top end. you won't be disapointed with this trio.

I bought a DG RCM header/muffler last year for $50, I couldn't pass it up. I've heard fellows say they suck, they rust out blah blah blah. I sanded down the headpipe over the winter and painted it with rustoleum 1200 degree paint. Have ridden about 20-25 hours since and the pipe still looks like it did when I painted it. Only time will tell. Pipes need maintenance like everything else. Take care of it and it will last much longer. DG's are quite loud though. Along with the pipe I have a K&N filter and 14 tooth front sprocket. I'm very pleased with the combination I have on my 300EX, it seems to work very well. Good Luck!!
