400ex will not start in gear...

my 400EX will not start in gear with the clutch pulled in..its supposed to. im not sure what the problem is, maybe a wiring short, or, i hope to hell its not the clutch going. anyone know whats wrong?

Default 400ex will not start in gear...

it might be the clultch going but that happend me a few times, im not sure what it was but i just did a rutine check up on it and then it stated to work prefectly. it might of just been tightning the wire

Default 400ex will not start in gear...

i fugured it out on another forum. theres a switch in the clutch\parking brake assembly. if the switch is bad, which mine was, it wont start in gear. all i did was disconnect the wires and splice them together. this is probbly not the safest thing in the world, but i dont feel like replacing the switch...

Default 400ex will not start in gear...

Might as well go ahead and remove that parking brake cable and get an aftermarket clutch lever and perch. Get the parking brake blockoff for the rear caliper. You won't start it in gear after you do it once. However, if you ever break your clutch cable, like I did recently, you'll be glad you can start it in gear and still ride your quad out.
