Honda TRX 250
#1
I have a 1987 Honda FourTrax 250. I haven't been able to get it started the last couple of weeks. The gas is on, there is gas, it's getting gas, choke is on full, battery appears ok, new plug and repaired plug wire. Are these cold tempered machines? I live in Denver and the avaerage temp right now is 15. I haven't started it since Novemeber. Thanks.

I was just wondering, is it a 250X or a 250 utility with racks? Also, I have an old utility Honda 250 and 2 125s. Sometimes they won't start because there isn't enough water or acid in the battery. I put some in and they start right up. Hope this helps.

I've got an 85 TRX 250 utility (the one with racks) and from my experience and what I've heard you'll die before it does. Others have told me that it can flood easily and you have to either be willing to pull the spark plug and let it dry out, or have a spare on hand to replace it with.
I suppose you just need to take one thing at a time - air, fuel, and spark. If it has all these at the right times, it ought to start. If it doesn't start, then one of the three is probably messed up.
The repaired plug wire raises my eyebrows. I'd replace that first then see what happens. No easy solutions at this point, sorry.

I will try both your responses. I know on the last attempt that I did flood it.
I will try and replace that Wire if I can. I would have felt better with a new one, but catching this particular Honda dealer at the wrong time henders things a bit (not known to be helpful). Thanks for your help.
