scosho is so right and they said it'll be aroudn 500 pounds compared to the scambler 500 with 4x4 is 515, a huge difference riight? this isa nice quad for a 50 year old man who thinks hez hip on a sport quad but thats about it. Who wants to jump something or manuever through tight trail something so big and heavy? Not me! If that were so i'd go get myself a 4x4 utility because the only reason that its that much lighter is becase it has no racks and a few other things are removed from a utility that are a sport but theres no such thing as a 500+ sport quad. I wana see someone race it or who knows, its just a pos if you ask me, its a nice utility quad yeah but not a sport, sorry kawi, good try stick with the kfx.

Huge! And what's so terrible it it ways a ton more than other bikes in its class like the DS650, my god what does it outweigh it by??? 20, 25 lbs.... and the Baja, who what a comparison, dead even in weight.... what a brick!

Yeah I think I'll go and get one to haul may hay on, plow the snow with, and carry in firewood. Now if I could just figure out how to mount that winch on a DG bumper and how to tie a cord of wood to the grab bar I'd be set.

You are so right, who would ever get caught dead riding a sport quad with 35 to 50 horses and capable of 75-80 out of the box?

i have a question for you...
would you be willing to submit to a drug test?????
Dirtwheels took a Prairie 650, put 25" sand tires on it, a CT exhaust and took the racks off and said they were beating stock Raptors with it.
Take the new Kawasaki with 50 more cc's, 100 lbs. lighter and a better-tuned auto and nothing out there will come close to beating it in a drag race.

how do you know that the p650's dragging the 400's werent built??? who checks them before the drag to make sure?
also, if i put an intake, CLutch kit, and a exhaust system on an ex., i think it would blow the 650 out of the water.

StevieD, since you are so sure of the 400EX's performance then the next time you're out why don't you pick a drag with a 650. Unless you get ahold of a machine that's set up to mud you'll more than likely get a rude awakening. I routinely race 400EXs, sometimes they win sometimes I win, it depends on the mods. The machine that I have the most trouble with runs a White Bros E series, 15 tooth front sproket, KN filter and power up kit, extended swingarm, and drilled airbox, yet he usually doesn't pass me till around 62 mph stock EXs are fun but they usually lose to the Prairie. I just love the look on a sport quad owners face when they get owned by a 600+ lb 4x4. LOL

I see it as pointless to try to argue this, those of you who say the Prairie can't win have most likely never seen one run let alone actually raced one. I on the other hand have actually had the honor of being on the hot seat, like I said I don't always win but I do win and when I lose its not by far.

The guy's in the High Performance class at our local track will attest to how the P650 runs. Those of you who think it won't are in for a surprise the first time you pick on one. I'm fixing to pick one up real soon and I have been gathering parts for it. Mine will be running Mike Penland cams, Diamond G snorkle, red and black spring, Mike Penland Signature series exhaust as soon as it's released and the new aftermarket CDI the minute it hits Diamond G's shelf. I've seen Prairie's set up this way with only a slipon and the stock CDI take stock and piped Raptors in the 100 yard drags at our closest track. The only place a 400EX with a pipe has anything over a p650 is topend as the stock CDI takes timing out of the motor to cut the power back on the 650 which limits the topend to around 64 to 67 mph.
