Default 250R Questions

i am looking into getting either an 88' or 89' 250R. how are these bikes for hill climbing, jumping, and aggressive trail riding? how do these bikes compare with the new high performance machines (raptors, ds650s, z400's)? also what is the best exhaust system out there for it as far a peak horsepower gain? Would I be happy with this bike or would I be better off going wit a raptor or Z400?

I would go with the 250R. But if 2-strokes aren't your cup of tea I would go with the RAPTOR or Z400.

Default 250R Questions

i have a CT whale high output pipe and a FTZ drag pipe. Both have super large expansion chambers. I think that the pipes with bigger expansion chamber have the most peak HP. Just for your referance, between the 2 pipes I mentioned, the CT pipe has more peak HP, by over 5 hp.

FTZ pipe was 57 HP
CT whale was 62 HP

These were taken on the dyno jet on alky in 4 gear with 14 - 36 gears engine size 330

the ftz pipe has a much better power curve compared to the ct whale pipe. much flatter compared to the spike power curb of the ct.

ESR has a pipe that might make more power than either of the 2 i have mentioned. i whitnessed a full framed 370 honda R run a 4.6 at 64mph on GAS at the sand drags clutching and grabbing gears. it had the type 12 pipe??? i think is what he called it?? the silencer was in the middle of the subframe. wicked is all i can say!!

i had a cobra pipe way back in the day...dont even think about that pipe

anyhow these are going to be the best peak pipes you can buy.......sparkes may have one too, i'm not sure , never seen one tho...
