I was going to buy the 2003 raptor for sure until someone told me to get a 250r. There is a 250r for sell that I can get my hands on and it is race ready. I'm not sure what it has on it though. I race mx and do fast trail riding. Which bike would you get?

 

oh and the 250r is either an 87 or 88

Dude, you are comparing apples to oranges! (HERE WE GO AGAIN!)

The R is a legendary MXer, the raptor is a SPORT machine

 

The other question is do you know how to work on it yourself or do you have the money to pay to have it worked on. The 250R is an old quad and unless you buy one completely restored you had better be ready to spend some cash and or time restoring it.

 

What exactly does "race ready" mean anyway? Pretty ambiguous term.

Still, I'm a die-hard fan of the R.

 

If your a die hard fan of the R than get an R.
If you race MX get the R
Dont buy something that your not going to be happy with or it wont suit the intended purpose..

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the raptor b/c people say you have to be able to work on your on motor and I can't do that. I am in the process of learning but I don't want to upkeep my own motor all of the time.

 

If you wana thumper and an MX quad, get the Z400. It'll post better lap times than a raptor, and is just overall in everyway a better MX quad.
Im also a die hard R rider. But if I every have to get ride of my R, Cannondale here I come!

 

I would stick with your first statement unless your an all out racer.
