but it did! we actually found the son's first year Honda minitrail! it still exists! and the guy gave it to us!
it's all taken apart, but am told many parts are still available.
can anyone help us with manuals, books, etcx, to reassemble?
would make a great gift for the grandkids, but we're kinda pressed for time!
if you can help, feel free to email Grampa at the address indicated or raptor8@hotmail.com
thanks in advance guys!

There are a ton of parts on ebay, what year is it? Late 70s early 80s have resonable prices but the early 70s late 60s have high prices. I have a contact in Penn. I think he has a lot of Mini trail parts , I know he has a lot of Blaster parts. I will get his email and send it to ya. There is also a message board for vintage cycle parts. Ill find it too.. Good luck, wish I still had the 78 Z50A I grew up on.

oooooh man. this is a first year 2 speed. no kidding. most folks dont know that. all others are 3 speed plus.
its all there, i think, it just needs to be cleaned and reassembled so the grandkids can ride it. that's the goal.
son is working on it.and he's 150 miles away of course, so dont knwo what he needs beyond shop manual for the trans, etc. and an owners manual would be cool.
funny two yamaha guys are restoring a honda on the honda website. funny.
ive spent 21 years with honda [cars] wheres the enthusiasm? i drive a suzuki (tracker) that get ya going? LOL help guys.. make small faces grin if ya can. thanks in advance.

Jay, it prob has as much to do with atvs as the atv90 did. it was the first small motorcycle with a trans that wasnt a minibike with a lawnmower engine. it has small 12" atv style tires, an air cooled engine, and even fold down handlebars! it was a big hit when it was new... i cant believe they dont still make some version of it. the time is now.
check HOnda for 'mini trail' and you will water the eyes of a lot of old farts.....they even looked cool!
see ya.. sniff

raptor8 which honda 50 are you talking about the?
QA50 (QA50KO)
Sell Date: 1970-1972 2-speed, automatic clutch
Or the
Z50A MINI TRAIL 50
Sell Date: 1968-1969 3-speed, automatic clutch
I had the 69 model with the added lights. the 68 model had no lights but was a 3 speed also.
5 years ago I purchased my son the then new XR70 and while he is over 6 foot tall now and has outgrown it, I will not be selling it anytime soon because it is still a fun little bike to ride in much the same way I did 33 years ago on my 69 Honda Mini trail 50.
