Sell my 400 for a 250r? hmm
I am thinking of selling my 400ex in order to buy a 250r. i would be selling the bike to my dad so i could still ride it and maybe buy it back some day. I rode my cousins 250r and instantly loved it more then my 400. They ride smoother and have a more enjoyable power band. So what to do? I need some support guys. I want to do this but i am unsure if i will regret it. I have over 10k into my 400 and i bet i could sell to my dad for 6k because we are family and he knows how well i take care of my bike. So i get 6k buy a nice 250r for 4-5 then invest the rest into making it better? What to do? Any input will be valued..
Thanks..

300exlittleman: Modified quads are usually worse less or the same as a stock quad in oregon. 6k is a great deal for any 400. Very rarly will a modified quad go for much moe then a stock one. I actually only have 5k into the quad and 5k to buy it. So total of 10k. I am not sure what to do..

Go for it. I did basically the same thing except I built my own. I was also very hesitant to do it but the R is simply untouchable. I've ridden everything and it is the absolute bench mark. I had about a grand in my 400's engine and I did all the work on it myself (no high priced labor fees) and now with my R I have about $200 in the engine and it would absolutely bend the old 426 over a barrel. You will never regret the swap.
