I have a 99 400EX with a White Bros. E-Series S bend silencer, K&N filter and re-jetted carb. I was wondering if anyone new who makes an after market header pipe that would work with this silencer. From what I've read and heard an after market header will make the 400EX run better. Any help is appreciated.

I AM POSITIVE WB MAKES A HEAD PIPE. I ALWAYS SEE THEM COME COMPLETE W/ THE SILENCER OR JUST A SILENCER. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE SELLING JUST THE HEAD PIPE BUT I AM SURE THAT THEY HAVE ONE SEPERATE. CALL THEM AND FIND OUT

 

I called WB a while back and the header pipe they make only fits the megaphone E-Series silencer. Is there anything to gain by replacing the stock header?

 

I read an article where WB tested a header for the s- bend, but it didn't make any differance. Making it bigger wouldn't help because the s-bend is made to fit the stock head pipe,you would need a bigger inlet to the silencer. If you wanted a bigger header to you should of got a pro meg e-series. But if your engine is stock, you don't need to go bigger. The stock pipe is well designed and will not restrict the increased amount of air flow from the filter and pipe. Make sure you vent your air box or take the lid off, you don't want to restrict the filter!
