Hello all, I am planning on buying a 2000 Honda four trax 400 ex and would like to know any of the problems it has that I should fix right away when I get it. Thanks for all the help. PS. feel free to post any good mods to add.

 

I have not encountered any problem with my 400EX (1999) yet. There are a lot of mods for the EX, depends on how much you want to spend. I think the first thing you should change is the handlebar,then the silencer, filter, jet kit, cdi,cam, drill holes in the airbox, add a steering dampener, and a set of TCS shocks and you're ready to have fun on a different level.

 

What does the steering dampener do? This is my first quad, so I don't know much about the smaller trick parts.

 

The steering dampener absorbs the shock in the steering stem. This dampener makes a big difference when riding bumpy trails the whole day.

 

HOW MUCH DOES ONE OF THESE THINGS RUN ?

i have a broken wrist/arm and i'm wanting to know if a steering dampener will help my wrist/arm from taking abuse?

 

Even without a broken wrist and arm the steering dampener will help every rider from taking abuse.
