Dont believe him.The 250 EX,like all Hondas are bullet proof. For what it is,the 250 EX ia great entry level sport atv.Notice I say entry level SPORT atv. It's not going to outrun a 400 EX,but with a good pipe and filter,it has plenty of spunk, and is a fun ride. My two cents.

The blaster will be faster stock, and a lot faster with mods. Brakes are the worst thing on blasters prior to 2003 models. We love our EX, for all the Honda reasons: bulletproof, fun, good brakes and suspension, good performance for its size, auto clutch, reverse, great handling and BIG FUN.. The blaster is technology almost 15 years old, and faster rarely means better for all the things we do with quads. If all you care about is going fast though, your choice is clear.

The 250 EX is excellent for entry level, 90 to 140lbs person, especially a new rider.
Perfect quad for a 12 to 14 year old.
In Calif., 4 stroke vs 2 stroke is an issue with registering it off road, and like other political cancers that start here and spread east, eventually this 2 vs 4 stroke issue may arrive on your door steps.
The rental places all suggest changeing the crankcase oils every other trip, and never stressing the driveline because the autoclutch will deteriorate if abused.
Suzuki is releasing a new 250 sport quad similar to the 250 ex, shaft drive, auto clutch, ect, with a tiny bit more pep.
We paid $3900 out the door for our 250ex and it's the best off roading money I ever spent. Excellent quad, we'd buy it again.
Don't let the 250cc's fool you. It's not like 250cc's of years past, & not like current MX 250 2 wheelers,, it's a very docile but peppy machine.
Rent one and see.

I would have gotten a Blaster for my kids if they had real brakes on them at the time I bought my 250EX. Stopping seems to be only a concern with adults. The 250EX is one heck of a durable machine, mine has been rolled at least four times. All that happened was the front brake lever broke. I'm getting a set of wheel spacers to cure this problem.

Exactly how do wheel spacers work? Do they go between the wheel and hub? Is it a different hub? What are they made out of, and what side effects if any do they have? Like can they come loose, will the tire now rub against something ect? Who sells them?
I'd like to slightly widen my Raptor. Just 3" I think will do the trick. It gets tipsy at the top of 1100 ft sand dunes because of the razorbacks one has to keep up speed and turn sharply to keep afloat.
My local dealer has no clue. No help at all.
Thanks for any info.
