Need opinion on 400ex
#1
I am thinking of getting a 400ex and I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on them. What has broken or what don't you like about it? Also what is a good shock for jumping. I am considering either PEP or ELKA. Does anyone have aftermarket shocks installed that could give an honest review?
Thanks

I've had mine for a year. If you want the quad that is the fastest in a straight line, don't get it. If you want the best handling, most reliable quad, get it. A pipe, air filter, and proper jetting will pep it up considerably.
I installed Works Triple rate shocks on mine. They're not the best, but for the dollar spent, they make a world of difference over the stockers.
The 400EX was, is, and always will be a great quad.

I love my 400EX. It handles great in the sand, it's not too heavy, it's reliable, it wheelies awsome. I'm a beginner and the jumps are great. It's very forgiving if you mess up on a landing. I haven't had any problems with it although I've only had it 10 months or so. It also does good in trail riding and desert. My husband just bought me a White Brothers E series pipe for christmas and I can't wait to try it out!
