Default Fuel problem - HELP-

I have a Honda Foreman 1987 350D. When I ride the bike it is fine, but when I shut it off for an extended amount of time and try to restart it floods itself out. This happens close to 40% of the time. If I first drain float bowl, it starts every time. Just replaced the fuel filter, float, needle valve and removed and cleaned out all carb ports and put new gaskets and O rings in it. I have a Honda Foreman 1987 350D. When I ride the bike it is fine, but when I shut it off for an extended amount of time and try to restart it floods itself out. This happens 25% of the time. If I first drain float bowl, it starts every time. Just replaced the fuel filter, float, needle valve and removed and cleaned out all carb ports and put new gaskets and O rings in it. Anybody else experience anything similar and any hints on what to do??? bad fuel pump, plugged vent lines, bad gas cap, bad shutoff valve .............. Help!

Thanks,

Default Fuel problem - HELP-

yooper,
this is a guess..but, if you replaced the float, & needle, did you shim the floats to spec? otherwose there could be too much fuel in the bowls and cause some problems, also, when it sits, after it is hot, if a roolover valve, or tank vent is clogged it could be building up pressure and seeping gas into the carb bowls..

The float is not adjustable, if out of specs you must replace. It was slightly off so I changed the needle and float. I was also thinking something in pressure from venting or return line. Thanks for the info!
