I got a New 400ex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAAAAAAAAAA AAAAA

I got my 400ex on friday night! It was thundering and lightning. I waited intill today and went riding in the poring down rain! It ran awsome and I blew my friends away half throttle because i have to break it in. Its my first time using a clutch. I used to ride a trx200sx and the 400ex is so smooth... I was wondering what should i watch for and are there any problems. I am thinking of getting graydon proline nerf bars. My niehbor has them on his banshee and they are pretty nice. It is a 2000 and i have heared that there is a problem with the throttle. I asked my dealer and they said that it should be a little slack and he did not know anything about it. Thanks for your help.

Here is an e-mail I have sent to quite a few people on the problem...
-------------
The 400EX has an adjustment for the throttle cable, I have found that the Y2K's are adjusted all the way in from the factory. This only allows for about 60~70% throttle opening.
The easiest way to check to see if yours is this way is to pull the rubber boot back that covers the cable's entrance into the thumb throttle control.
If it is adjusted in all the way (and it probably is), pull the fenders off, separate the boot from the air cleaner to the carb. Look into the carb as you apply full throttle. The slide should COMPLETELY disappear. Adjust the cable until it does so. Make sure the slide can return all the way to the idle position.
Reassemble. Start it, let it idle, turn the handlebars to make sure the idle does not raise. You are done. Wick the throttle in neutral, it will sound much, much meaner. Prepare for much more acceleration and throttle response.
