416ex test ride
I just installed an 87mm Ross piston, hotcam stage 2, took out the choke, 170 main jet and a 42 pilot. I took my time breaking it in. I did 3 or 4 heat cycles then just took it easy riding it around. I decided to see what it had today. It doesnt even feel like the same motor. It has so much more mid and top. It has more low end too but its not as noticeable. The throttle response is much better. It revs fast. I love it. Bad thing is that it is smoking when it gets hot so im probably going to have to take it back down. I guess the rings got messed up. Thanks, Ant.

My 416 11:1 will only smoke just a tad when warming up then it doesn't smoke at all.
I cut the top out of the air box to give it some more protection from mud and water. When it lowered however for drag racing I don't run a airbox.
I run a 256 degree cam and a 180 main jet. I think the hotcam stage 2 is just a hair smaller?
If you port and polish and do a valve job you will see big gains also.
Rev box will help also if you need alittle extra mph
Hope you guy's upgraded your clutch baskets or atleast keep and eye on them.
I also installed a FST oil cooler works awsome.
I change my oil every 6 hours now have only 21 hours on my new engine since complete crank and rod, bearings, seals, gaskets, yeah the works engine job. Metal went through it from the clucth baskets inner and outer, just to much power for the stock clutch.
