How Fast Can A 2001 Honda Recon 250 Go? In MPH Please...Thanks

Mt cosuin has a 2002 beartracker and we run somewhat close but I am ahead of him by a little. just picked up a new Dirt Wheels amg that tested the recon, ozark, and rally and the top speed for the recon was 45.5mph and the ozark was 47mph and the rally was 43mph.

Yes the ozark came in first, recon second, and rally third. The only major complaint on the ozark was the clutch was a little notchy, but It was the best to handle in the air. They compliment hondas ergos and its light nimble feel and of course bulletproof engine. The only thing was that they said it had not as much mid-top range as the others, but had great low end. The rally's mojor downfall was the crappy brakes and single a-arm front suspension.
The only thing that I dissagree about is that they said the recons clutch was the best and would last forever and anybody that I know that has a recon and "drives" them has a bad clutch. I don't know about the lack of mid-top end comment becasue I haven't drove an ozark or rally.

About the Recon I'm not sure but don't get your hopes on speed keep them on dependibility and being able to work them without the fear of breaking something. On the Ozark comment well they are very fun to ride. They have the weight and manuveralbilty of a 200 and the suspension and glide on jump landing of a quad. They give you a real "I'm riding a quad feel" in fact I almost beat my brother-in-law when he was riding his 300 2-stroke polaris! I do have some complaints about the machine tho. One is the shift lever wich after a while you have to put padding in your shoe because it's so stiff and another is the the top-heavy feel of the machine although I never flipped in going through the windy trails of Arkansas I felt as though I was going to and had to keep the full potential of the machine slowed for the straight aways.

A recon (229ccs) weighs 406, while a 2wd rancher is 498lbs. 524 for a 4x4. These are non ES models. Adding 100cc and 100lbs actually increases the power to weight ratio, making it faster per pound. My 01 Rancher 4x4 ES (535lbs) will top out at 49 mph, which is pretty fast for a utitliy quad with a small engine and full time 4wd.
