Default 2003 250ex slip on or full system

My son wants mods. on his 03 250ex is it necessary to buy a full exhaust system or will a slip on work. I am looking for the cheapest way but also want a quality exhaust.

I put a Pro Circut T-4 slip on, on my wifes 02 250ex, i put on a twin air filter and stage three jet kit and removed the lid of airbox, was about $400 for pipe, filter and jet kit, and it made a Very big differance, i was very positively supprised how much of an increase in power it got.

We have the MFM MegaMaxII slipon and a K&N. The power increase was very noticeable!! Does somebody make a full system for this?? To me, it is a mistake to spend to much $$$ on an entry level bike, when you should just be moving up to the next level.

I haven't seen a full system for the 250, but there could be one out there. I have the White Brothers E-series, jet kit and K&N Filter, really opened it up. Its a really nice quad for someone who wants looks and decent preformance without a clutch.

Use the T4 full system. We put the back on first and made some gain. Then we put the front on and made a real big gain. If you buy the whole system it is cheaper than buying the back then the front. The whole system is $310.00. Another system that works good is the DG W/Spark arrestor they are $260.00.
I can not say anything good about FMF. I would stay away from them.

Oh yeah, vent the airbox lid too!!! I use 6 one inch holes with White Bros filtered vents in them.

Sorry, can't remember what jet I ended up with. Anyway, it will depend on how many discs you run (I run 6). Try the FMF web site. They have a large jetting chart and it might be there, or give them a call. Then find a different dealer who won't jerk you around!!

I know big gun makes a complete kit for about $400, as for jetting, just order the kit from Rocky mt atv, its $60 and comes with the instructions which tell you what jet to use for each applications.

I wouldn't waste money on the jet kit. The dynojet needle looks the same as stock with a few more clip positions. Just by jets from your dealer. I got a used t4 for my nieces 250ex. I like the sound, but i don't know that it added much performance.
