I LIVE IN WILLARD / OHIO I PAID $5835 WITH TAX
OUT THE DOOR. MY BUDDY PAID ABOUT $5600 WITH TAX. AND ANOTHER BUDDDY PAID $6100 WITH TAX.
SO SHOP AROUND THE PRICE THEY PAY IS $5000 THEY

Keep in mind that the 400EX is probably the best selling quad right now, and most dealers are getting retail just because there is someone out there that is willing to pay that much just to have one--I hesitated on two of them and someone snuck in behind me and paid retail in cash. But it's also getting closer to when the 2001 models will be out, so you should be able to use that as ammunition for not paying full price. In CA I just paid $6200 out the door including the 3-year extended Honda warranty...best price I could find out of 5-6 dealers.

This probably won't help, but I bought my 400EX in Fairfield, Illinois. It was at a place called Lemond's. I payed about $5400 or so after taxes, freight, and setup. Not bad i didn't think.

I paid $5300 for mine with no taxes because I bought mine out of state in Ohio. I saw one price in a shop andd in the Motorcycle trader for $5000 for a 2000. I think they are made in ohio and can be bought for faily cheap there.

Since you live in Jersey call som places in Delaware. Since they have no sales tax you should be able to get a good price and not drive to far. I got mine for $5269 before tax and $5500 out the door. In Winchester, VA. Good luck.

You might try leisurebytel. I haven't bought anything from them but I have used them for price comparison. Go to their site; get a quote, print it out ant take it with you to the dealer. Try to haggle first and if they aren't reasonable show them the printout.
