Honda TRX 90
#1
I'm having trouble locating a new TRX 90 for my kids. I have checked several dealers in my area (Dallas, Tx) and have been told that dealers can't get any. One dealer told me that Honda sets production based on the previous year's sales and this model must be popular.
Has anyone else out there had similar experience in other parts of the country?
One would think that Honda would increase production if Eton and others new manufacturers obviously feel there is a large developing market.
I have looked for a used one but they are hard to find and trade quickly at pretty high prices.
Does anyone out there know if Honda plans to update this model and perhaps that is the reason for the shortage?
Thanks for the help.

I must have lucked out when I bought one because my dealer had one on the showroom floor, but I've haven't heard about any changes or improvements that would effect production. I do know from speaking with my dealer though, that they don't get many and sell quickly when they get 'em--around here they also usually sell the first day when advertised in the trader mag's--that's why I bought a new one over used. At any rate, it's been a good machine although it's in the shop for a bent right front shock and loose tie rod ends (a few too many jumps). Unless your mind is set on the TRX90, you might want to check out the Eton 90 and LT80...both are 2-strokes and are quicker than the 4-stroke Honda 90cc.

Sorry to hear that, I just bought one for my boys last week and it's a great little machine. My dealer usually has one sitting on the floor year round ( that's why my kids got one I couldn't take the temptation anymore ) I don't know how fast they move around here but I'm told you can sell them in a day. Hope you find one soon.

I couldn't find a TRX90 anywhere in Southern Washington or NOrthern Oregon. I purchased the E-ton 90 (Thunder)for my kid. He loves it so far. I purchased mine for $1999 before the addons & sales tax. The E-ton beat the Suzuki Lt-80 in a mini shoot out. Mainly because its $400-$500 cheaper. It looks real simple to work on. Check them out! My wife likes riding it, & she weighs 125

Thanks for the input. I called a local dealer yesterday and he had just received one. I bought it last night. They didn't deal much on the price as I expected but I'm glad to have one.
I'd be interested in more information from those of you with the E-tons as I have a 5yr old son who will be riding soon. How you like them, fit and finish, reliability etc. Thanks in advance.

Search through the archives under "Buying an ATV", as there have been quite a few threads under Eton and Impulse. I looked at them as well before buying a TRX-90, and can say that I feel they're very well-built. I went with a four-stroke because I live in CA, and the fact that my dealer gave me a pretty good deal on the Honda. Good luck!
