If there is anyone who owns a honda rancher, could you tell me what are your likes and dislikes about this machine. And tell me your experience in the ATV market. I am trying to decide which one to buy. The rancher sounds good, and is in my price range. trx350 ES for $5000. Thank you for all of your input

yes, there are people on here with ranchers, most of them say that they like them, I'm sure that the reason none of themhave responded to your post yet is because they are out riding or hunting, this weekend is a holiday so just wait until some of them return hoem, Also look at the other rancher topics, that should help you out.

Hang on Dutch!
There are a few fellas around here that have the Ranchers, but you'll have to be patient until they get a chance to answer you.
If the Rancher is anything like the 450es I'm sure you'll love it.

hahahaha. Sorry for being so impatient. I'm new to all this and don't know how long all this takes. thanks for your reply. I would like to add this though. Is the rancher actually 3wd like I've heard. explain how the drive train works such has the splitting up of the power between the front and back.

Thank you so much peeps looking foward to your replies

Adam future atver and contributer to the forom(one day anyway.) ;o)

Ok, Yes, I have a Rancher. TRX350FE. I have owned several other quads before including the TRX300. Here are the likes/dislikes:
Power is much better than old 300. Much more torque. The rev-limiter is extremely annoying. It kicks in way too early. I need a bypass if anyone has one.

Suspension is excellent compared to old 300. The unit doesn't bottom out at the slightest bump and jumps quite well for a 530 lbs quad. Top speed is 4-6 better than old. Top Speed of 50 mph recorded with GPS.

Racks, front bumper/rack is pre-bent I guess to avoid the tears when you hit a tree. The rear rack has some strange cross-bars that make strapping down dry storage boxes more difficult.

4-whell drive is better than old. If you turn the wheel that is free-wheeling in the air it will transfer the power to the other. It is 3 wheel, but well done.

For those that carry passengers, the rear is much more comfortable and easier to add a cushion.

Lights are excellent compared to old. Very bright.

This all I can think of at this point.

Hope it helps
Scott
