new 250ex

LOL, sounds like someone is happy. As for your tire post I put holeshots on the front and rear, I want to say 20x12x9 is what i have on the rear and I kept the stock size in the front. The only thing that I dont like is that now the rev limiter kicks on at a lot lower speed due to the shorter tires. If I had to do it over again I would just go with a wider tire and keep the stock height. As far as break-in jsut take it easy for a while (not that my wife did) and change the oil after a first good ride. I think she rode it about 4 hours or so that day and I changed the oil when I got home. Then again I change the oil more than I should but its cheap insurance. The only thing that I dislike is no grease fittings on anything. After a few rides thru the water you'll start betting a squeak from the lower a-arm and shock bushings. I took it all apart and greased it all with boat trailer wheel bearing grease. Oh and one other thing, its 40 bucks well worth getting the oe manual for it, look in the owners manual for the 1-888 number and order it, you wont be sorry. Any other questions just ask me, had ours for 2 years now and been doing great.

pensy250ex,
How about you go out and get a job cutting grass or shoveling snow to afford the mods yourself. Don't rely on your dad for everything!
PensyKodiak,
I bought my son and daughter a 250EX last May. Since then it has probably run the better part of 24 hours a day, except when they are at school. I broke it in with a short little trail ride, nothing long, stopping every ten minutes to let it cool down. I just put wheel spacers on it this past Christmas to make it less tippy. Other than that it is bone stock. Now, it actually starts up better in the cold than it did when new.
Hope this helps!
