Default 350x

I was recently given a 1985 Honda 350x motor that has never been taken out of the crate. What I was wondering was is this a good motor? Also how fast were these 3 wheelers? I was thinking of puting the motor in a frame but I dont want to go through the trouble if this is a crappy motor.
What would be a good frame to put it in? I have a mojave I could put it in but I want to keep Honda with Honda.
Would this be a sleeper or just asleep?

Is this project worth the time?

I had a 350x a few years back and I also had a 400ex. I realize a quad weighs more than a atc, that 350x would move. It did real well on the hills out in the dunes. I wish I still had that 350x. I think it's
a great motor and I would use it for some kind of project.

Those 350X`s made some good hp for their size and the transmissions shift very easy and precise. A friend had one stock and I had a Warrior stock he was heavier than me so the total weight was about the same. He could beat me every race. I needed to put a piston, cam, pipe and filter on my Warrior to beat him on his stock 350X.

Keep it in a light chassis and it`ll be a fun maachine.

Would it be worth puting in a 250r or maybe even a 400ex frame? What would some other good frames be? What kind of bike could I expect?
If I put it in a 400ex frame how would it compair to my stock 400ex?

In a 250r frame, it will outrun your 400ex. I am looking for a 350x cylinder and head if anyone has a spare.

350X engine in a 250X/300EX frame has been done a few times. Some company had a conversion Kit for it but I don't know who it was.

The only downfall to the 350X motor is that its a pain in the neck to kick over. As wizeguy said you are going to have one heck of a time starting that thing.
