people i just bought a 250XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX yesterday it tops about 55-60

 

WISTECH have you ever check the speed on the 250ex or just went with something i know it goes of 50

 

the 250x is about 2-3mph faster than a 300ex and the 300esx does about 55mph so that would put the 250x at about 57mph,my 300ex did 59 on pavement with my rings going bad.

 

I have a 1988 250x and it runs alottle over 55mph

I had my 88 250x for 2 years and back then thought it would do 60+ and yes it was moded but

Then i got my 99 400ex and it has full big gun, 416 big bore, ported head, stage 1 cam, k&n filter, no air box lid. It has stock gearing I think it will do 70.

There is such a big difference between the two. the only way to get a 250x or 300ex to run 60+ it with really tall gearing. The only time i think i feel like a fourwheeler is fast is if it has a 6 speed, yfz raptor banshee 250r ect.

 

is it a two stroke or sumthin?

 

246cc 4 stroke and i think it is a 4 valve. I just got done selling mine (just came inside) I sold it for 1600 cash. all the more money for my 400 or anouther quad. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

YFZ and Raptor are 5 speed not 6.

 

it goes around 55mph stock, but like said earlier in the fourm, it can run faster if running decently loose, or with a few high po mods

 

i have a 87 250x and i have gotten it up to 75 but i have a big bore kit and alot of extras done to the motor as well i changed the sproket size i live in a very small town and im freinds with the cops here and i was tag at 75 by a cop radar if you put some money into it it will run Bal** to the walls
