How long do we have to wait? I'm tired of the Bombardiers, Banshees, Cannondales, Raptors,& Z400's leaving my 400ex! Also I'm told the Predators can do it too. I have a White Brothers silencer, K&N, Rev-box, and Jetting, but their quads are still faster, and everybody knows it! I know I can do more mods but what if they do these mods too. It's a losing battle! Is Honda ever going to come to our rescue? Or do I have to switch Brands?

Hey there. I have a 400ex with the White Bros E Series Slip, K & N, Lid on air box is off and I am running a 160 main jet. It runs good but it gets weird when you rev it out at idle, it starts to cut out and run real bad. Was it necessary to change you Rev Box. Did you ever hit you rev limit? What main jet are you using and did you change your pilot jet and needle?

Are you happy with you silencer? If not, what would you get now?

I believe that before the year is over we will see a prototype sport quad coming out from Honda. Will it be the crf450 quad that everyone is hoping for I dont know, maybe it will be the 650ex that the big bore sport riders are waiting for. I believe that when they do come out with their new sport quad it will be worth looking at, Honda has gone to long know not to have something in the works, if they did go another year without bringing out a new sport quad it would probably be the end for the honda sport quad loyalist. The question is can you wait another year?

I have a dynojet kit in it so the jets will be different than stock numbers. I forgot what number I'm running, maybe a 170, stock pilot, but I think that needs to go up one size. I like my white brothers slip on.

There was something in the March issue of Dirtwheels (page 148) about Tim Farr testing a new Honda quad. The important thing to remember is why Tim Farr didn't make it to race the Baja 1000. I will quote the article:

"2002 MX champ Tim Farr was set to ride until a last minute injury while test riding the top secret new HONDA sport quad forced him to pull out."

Note the use of wording "the" instead of "a". The word "the" would mean that the sport quad he injured himself on was NOT his factory racer, but an all new machine from Big Red. The word "a" would have meant that he is testing one of his "one off" machine he will race next season. It's all in the context.

Well, at least we know the " top secret new Honda sport quad" goes fast enough to hurt yourself on. This is always good news!

Who wants to wait for Honda? Those who are brand loyal are blind. There are plenty of great quads out right now that are worth having. I've got two Z's, and have had them from the first week they were introduced. Neither have ever had any issues, not even with the axles and these machines spend most of their time in the air. Really, if you think about it, the Z is what honda should have made the EX, but didn't, albeit the ex is still a good machine itself and is proven it's reliability. Pred's are fast and handle great, but I've heard of issues of shifting under power and having to let off before shifting, ouch. Raptors are good, but be ready to get a wider axle. Honda, well, honda fell asleep at the wheel, and y'all are in the back seat.

yeah, whats the deal yo...250r is the best bike ever built...who cares about honda's "new" bike. Their "old" bike will never be matched. Good call Rich
