Easy, reverse gear. had Honda done that from the beginning they would have ahd a steller quad. It isn't a race quad, I don't know why people kid themselves so there is no reason to have not included reverse. For me the decision is easy. Suzuki Z400... all of the 400EX flaws have been fixed.

My biggest gripe was that it needed more power. I sold my 400ex and bought my Raptor because of the lack of power. The Raptor doesn't handle as well but it's more fun due to the significant increase in power.

 

I WAS going to get an EX quite a while ago, but it just didn't do everything I needed. I ride tight trails, where if I didn't have reverse, it would plain suck. I ride with a guy who's got an 02 ex and is PISSED because the Z came out like a month after he got his EX. He's always havin to get off, push, shove or whatever. So glad I got put on the waiting list so I'd be the first at my dealer to get the Z. It's what the EX could/should have been.

 

all you guys talking about the Z out-handling the EX..... is that really the case?

I think they may be equally close.... with a nod going to the EX, because of the swingarm geometry on the Z is a little off, and not too suited for the whoops
