I did a little night ride last night on the Rancher and discovered 2 things.

1. The head lights are not aligned properly, especially the high beams.
Does anyone know how to align or aim the headlights? Is this a "dealer" fix only?

2. The gear selection buttons, NEED some back lighting so that you can see the upshift and downshift buttons, when the lights are on.
The folks at Honda SHOULD make some sort of switch that can be fitted in the place of the installed switch and GIVE it to Rancher owners...
or at least price it so low as to make it affordable. I'll take one now, please. I'm surprized they missed this one!

Comments and sugestions please.

the lights on my rancher light up the trails great at night . . . a huge improvement over the old 300's. As for the gear buttons, I totally agree with you, but I have found over time that I very rarely look at them now, even during the day when I can see fine - kind of like typing on the keyboard?

Adjustment is simple. Look under the lights, you will see 2 screws just like a car light. Turn the screws to adjust the up and down and right to left movement. It is that simple. I had to adjust mine as well.

Have fun, and Rancher's Rule

I think the rancher headlights work really well. Mine are adjusted just right. Do you rancher owners not just love your ranchers? i think they are one of the best atv's on the market right now! I have heard complaints about the es not having lights on the shift buttons. Do you guys like your es models? i chose the old shift just to be on the safe side.

I love my Rancher.
As far as the lights on the buttons are concerned. I work off of feel and don't need lights on them. I would think most people would be the same way, but I could be wrong.

The stock lights are much better than the 300's but the are not enough for me, I love my KC's.

I agree with Phalynx,

My shifting is done by feel. Lights on the shift buttons in my case not worthwhile.

Lights I suppose would help...but who looks down anyway. Put your thumb on the piece of plastic in between the two shift buttons....up is up-shift an d down is downshift.

You will get used to it soon and it will be a snap.
