Hey im going to get a 250r, ive been looking for some time now and i was wondering if there was anything that i should know to look for to get a good deal or not, i have a cr125 now and im going to go to a quad so i know alot about 2 strokes but i would apprieate any help yall could give me....thanx

 

First off try to find a 88 or 89 TRX.They have a Aluminum Swingarm and are better looking IMO among other things.Most 250R's in good shape with mods are going for around $6K.You can find a stock one for around 3-5 grand.E Bay has a lot of R's for sale all the time.But,they dont give them away.Good choice by the way.R's are the sh*t. late,zubbeyboy

 

a few things to look for when buying a used r. if they were ridden hard, they were prone to cracking near teh upper steering stems mounts as well as the shock mounts. also along the swingarm pivot point. take a good look before you buy. try and find a frame that has been gussetted. think twice about a bike that you know has been raced motocross. they may already be built up, but once again, inspect teh frame closely.
