I have a 97 300ex IT was a great qaud until yesterday. I was jumping getting about 5 foot of air. the problem is the stock exaust alows the suspension to travel to far and it hits the spar erauster and puts a big dent in it. now my atv sounds like a harley and baffles alot. the spark arrester hit the caliper. and dented it bad. well remeber ride red ride smart and ride hard!!!!!!!!!!

good way of getting a new pipe! I noticed if you rode two people on a 300 it would rub occasionally. good luck.

I have heard that the 400ex's do that also.

My stock exhaust did that too. I replaced it with a WB E-series and haven't had a problem since.

To stop it happenning, how about splitting the shock and fitting a larger rubber bottom out buffer ? guess this would reduce shock travel thou

Bummer deal. I only heard of that with the longer travel aftermarket rear shocks, but not with the stock rear shock.

I haven't had this problem on my '94 yet but I did notice that the bracket is starting to bend and allow the muffler to sit lower. Time for a new muffler, honey!!
