Hey,
you bring it on any-day in the trails with your 300ex... you MIGHT keep up... yeah right. The 300ex is a good quad for the not so experienced rider... the 400ex beats it though. I just can't stand it when people say "duhhh, soup up the 300 and it beats the 400" YEAH WELL SOUP UP THE 400 JUST AS MUCH AND IT'S GONE!

When you purchase your brand new 400EX, you also become the best rider in the world. Just listen to the rave reviews of how untouchalbe the 400EX is. Sounds about right, I don't usually touch them when I'm passing them. I just drive right by.

I hope that everyone knows that I am joking around. The 400EX is a kick *** quad and I like it. But it is not untouchable. Rider error and mistakes brings it back down too human form.

I could have fun on an old 185s, if that's all I had. 400ex's are great..300ex's are great for what they are designed for. It has been my personal experience that most people(not all)that go out and buy a new 400ex, can't ride worth a lick anyways. They spend most of their time telling their friends how great it is, while I'm out riding.

I have had both and it is hard to beat the 300ex on tight and twisting trails. Being shorter and narrower really helps. I miss my 300ex at times on trails. Then lets go to the dunes my 300ex was so-so even after I punched it out to 330 the only thing it would beat up sand mountain was another 300ex ,warrior or smaller machine. My 400ex stock was ok but still strugled pulling big sand hills , the ultimate HP test. After I hopped it up a bit I was playing with stock banshees and beating up on the big yellow slugs pulling sand hills. Occasionally I get an inexperienced banshee rider and can beat a FMF or other brand equiped Banshee. I never have beaten a Toomie equiped one though. A bad rider on a great machine doesnt make a fast combo but a great rider can make up a bit of lack of HP atleast on tracks and trails. In sand HP to weight is king. It doesnt hurt to just be able to pin the throttle and grab the gears at the right time. Ride what you like your the only one you have to please.

You know I have to Agree, the 400 ex is a good bike, but in My honest Opinion not nowhere near as good as all the Hype, First I dont own one, But spent a solid weekend on one, Was rather disappointed. First off a 400cc 4 stroke, I started short shifting , It fell on its face VERY fast, it might as well been a 2 stroke, the power spread is about the same, all mid and top, very little low. Suspension wise, it wasnt bad, I actually liked the ride, handled8-10 foot jumps relatively well. I DID like the ergonomics, the riding position was good. But the engine was really Diappointing, I Mean 27 horsepower? A Polaris 300 puts out that much Stock..

If you want to feel really bad try owning a 86' 200 sx. this was one of the best automatic sport atv's out there, yet you cannot find parts anywhere. I owned a 300ex, it was grat in the dirt but it sucked when going against a hill or my brothers xr600. Now on my 400 with accesories I can play with his mind abit. Keep your 300 for your future wife and buy you a 400. You'll ask yourself "300, Why"

Ok, all you 400ex riders are the ones saying "you will kill us anyday", not one of us 300ex riders have said our machine is better than yours! You get a good machine, and you think you are the fastest person alive, until you ride w/ someone w/ equal or more potential....dont worry 300ex riders, they will learn
