Just went to little sahara for the first time,Im hooked, had a blast, looking for some pipe info. Everyone I talk to says go with the W/B e series pipe, does anyone have the R series I like the looks of it better? Thanks to the forums for letting me know about the throttle not opening mine was only opening about 75%.

No tune ability with the r-series. I talked to WB when the r-series came out and they said it was really for racing. I have the e-series and really like the results. Good luck with your search.

We are planning a trip for snake hunt weekend, have you ever been during that weekend???

My throttle was only opening about 75% too, I originally posted my findings back in September, since then, just about every 2000 model I have heard about or run across has been that way, glad to have helped........

nope, this was my first time to ride at sahara, its not going to be the last though, we usually ride on the south canadian river and a few tracks that we have made in the canyons, I have some friends that go to sahara about every other weekend Ill ask them about it.

I checked out the throttle on my '00 400EX the other day, and it was opening 100%. Is it the dealer that usually sets them to only 75%, or does Honda do it, and possibly my dealer adjusted it to get the full 100%?

I asked about the R-Series pipe, too. Salesman said they recommend it for racing only. Straight-body pipe = mega decibles. Not a pipe for trail rides. I then asked how much more power it produced, compared to the E-Series, and he said they were about equal, but the R-Series is much lighter.

The adjustment screw where the cable goes into the thumb throttle is adjusted all the way in from the factory, leaves a lot of slop in the cable. Chances are you have a sharp dealer that caught it, or someone has told them about the problem and they actually took the time to correct it. Either way, that't above average for a dealer.

Basically all they have to do to get them ready for sale anymore is bolt on the tires & wheels.

We already have a couple of rooms reserved, and will be arriving Thursday night. Hopefully it will be a blast. We almost didn't sched for that weekend, but thought we would give it a try, hope it's worth the drive (even have a friend flying in from North Carolina to go with us)...
