Default Nerf: AC or Pro Armor?

I'm having trouble deciding between the standard AC nerfs and the Pro Armor for my 400ex... It sounds like the AC installation is a real pain, but I've read varying opinions on that after searching the forum. Has anyone installed the Pro Armor on a 400ex? Are they pretty much bolt on (no drilling, or re-routing of oil lines, etc.)? Any advice or insight would be much appreciated.

I had the Pro-Peg ACs on mine and they rocked Aluminum heel guards and bolted to motor mount brackets not clamped to frame...save the little extra and go all out...it is worth it .I have pics on page of them.

I love my AC nerfs. Give them a try if you won't be sorry!

I don't doubt the merits or abilities of either unit... I haven't read or heard anything negative on that aspect... what I'm wondering is what the installation of either was like. Did you have to drill holes in the footpegs, or does it line up with some existing bolt?

I had to drill holes through my existing footpegs for the second bolt. That was easy. The installation was a breeze!

Ok, Ok... We've established that they are good. What is involved in installing the AC's? Are they hard to install compared to others? Is any drilling required? etc.

Did anyone who has the AC's install them?

Milkweed, how big of a hole did you have to drill? That sounds a bit scary.

I was looking at the standard nerfs, not the pro-pegs
